[BOGO] SCR
A device that purifies harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) from diesel engine exhaust gases.
Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) equipment is a device that purifies harmful nitrogen oxides (NOx) from the exhaust gases of diesel engines. Diesel engines emit more pollutants compared to gasoline engines, with particular attention on NOx and PM2.5 as environmental issues. These are in a trade-off relationship; reducing PM2.5 through complete combustion increases NOx, while reducing NOx through incomplete combustion increases PM2.5. SCR reduces NOx to harmless nitrogen (N2) and water vapor (H2O) using a reducing agent (mainly ammonia water or urea water) and a catalyst. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has been enforcing Tier 3 regulations since 2016, which require an over 80% reduction in NOx emissions from diesel engines, and Modern Materials provides SCR products that comply with these regulations.
